Our story:
We are a handful of people who want to live on a bitcoin standard. We didn’t think buying gift cards to support fiat stores and banks was a solution. We wanted to put into practice Satoshi’s vision of “a peer to peer electronic cash” that “would allow online payments sent directly from one party to another.”
For those of us who want to use bitcoin as money, it can be a real challenge. Yes, you can find a handful of places that accept bitcoin as payment, but it is often more a novelty than an ordinary way to buy what you need. You can find dedicated artisans selling home made soap or specialty coffees, but prices are often high for these luxury items. We wanted a way for an average family to buy the day to day items they need with bitcoin, at a price comparable to what they would pay using their country’s currency. That’s why we founded satwize.
